Insect Management

A successful insect management program can best be accomplished by combining IPM techniques such as accurate pest identification, scouting, monitoring and action thresholds, with biological and alternative (preventative) control practices and selective insecticide applications. For general information on insect management see the following sections of the New England VegetableManagement Guide.

Insect Identification and Management
Correct identification of insect pests is key for proper selection of management techniques, including cultural practices, monitoring, biological control, and use of insecticides. Use the column on the left to visit our photo gallery of insects in vegetable crops.
